  • Please Pray for my family, especially me dear sister Starla, her lil girl Jessi and her unborn baby... Starla's husband was killed in an accident Saturday evenin. He had been back at the property they just bought grading the lane to get it ready for gravel and on his way back goin up a steep incline somethin happened that no is definitely sure of, either the grader ran out of gas or he couldn't get it in gear, no one knows for sure but in rolled back down the incline flippin 3/4 a full flip pinnin him. Starla feels he was killed instantly and did not have to struggle which we are all thankful for. We all will miss him greatly but we know he was ready to die and will be in heaven to meet us someday. There's alot of great big unknowns right so please pray for her as she makes these great big adjustments and that we can all be a good support to her. Me and Glen left yesterday morning with Brad's and their family and drove straight thru arriving about 9:00 this morning. The funeral plans are in the process of being finalized but the funeral is being planned for Wed. morning.
I don't have a current family picture of them but here is one from Christmas of 2007

    Wabash River 212 (Medium)

... our last view of the river :(

    Wabash River 213 (Medium)

... and the first view of our next trip : )

... once we finally got everythin loaded up the stinky (i'm sure we had to stink) river rats headed for home... after an interesting trip we made it home bout 9 and got everythin unpacked and took a long hot shower that felt wonderful... i headed to bed to oversleep the this mornin :(

... anyways... it was an adventure that was well worth while even though we really didn't have much of a clue about what we were doin and i'd go back and do it again if i had the chance.

... a few tidbits from the trip:

        - if you have too many 13 mil. wrenches, just through a few in the river

        - you crack your knuckles cause theres air in em

        - blowing your nose can have more than one meaning

        - it's kinda fun bein rednecks

        - swappin ppl from the boat to the jet ski can be done while both are still movin

        - if your phone doesn't work, dump salt in it... it just might revive it

... more may be added later but i'm too tired to think right now, so i hope you've got a glimpse (barely a glimpse) of the fun we had... well i've got to get my laundry out of the dryer and i'm heading to bed!!!

  •  In Loving Memory of

    "Grandpa"

    Marcus W. Ramer

    August 25,1932 - July 3, 2008

    grandpa

The man that I called Grandpa Ramer, lived just a mile up the road from me all my life and many of my growing up days were spent at Grandpa's house.  Grandpa was mechanic and worked from his shop at home so I have many memories of spending time watching him work, playing in his shop while he was working, asking many questions about how things work (which didn't make much sense to this lil girl at the time), going with him to pick up parts, and many, many more memories.  He never said much but he always took time for me and anyone else.  Grandma & Grandpa had a huge heart for other people and most of my growing up years I remember them sharing their home and love with at least one foster child. 15 years ago he was diagnosed with parkinsons disease and he slowly he became a "different" Grandpa that I loved.  One of the best "later in life" memories I have with gGrandpa was that  we both liked the new VW Bugs and would always ask me when I was gonna buy one.  I knew a someone who had one and one Saturday afternoon I was able to borrow it and take Grandpa for a ride.  He was so tickled!  My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner when he woulda been able to take it for  a drive. It was hard to watch him slowly go downhill especially when I would come home from South Carolina to visit.  It was hard to see the Grandpa that used to be very active sit in his chair very figity and restless from the toll the disease was taking on his body. My mom and here sisters dedicated a day every week from their schedule to spend the day helping Grandma care for Grandpa and towards the end every other night mom would drive that "extra mile" to help put him to bed because Grandma could no longer do it herself.  June 22nd Grandpa suffered a stroke which  took his eye sight, swallowing, voice and left arm movement.  The next 10 days he lay calm and relaxed in his bed and most of those days you could still get a big smile from him.  It was sad to watch him slowly slip away but you knew that he was going to a much better place and will have a new body thats not disease stricken.  July 3rd he peacefully slipped away to his Heavenly home.  Theres a hole in the family and in my heart that will never be filled again until we get to Heaven.

on the way back from the garden we got ice cream at the sandwich shop in seneca and took some to the girls working at the seneca store.  we has enough time to watch the best parts of runaway bride before waneta had to head back to north carolina.   saturday eveing me, iona, & angie went to jen's house for a yummy (minus the steamed brocoli) supper.  brenten wasn't home so we had some good girl time and LOTS of laughs.  i could post some pictures but i treasure my friendship with these gals : )  sunday after an awesome lunch at richard & becky's we went back to the gardens to take some more pictures before i had to head back north.  it was a short but very good weekend!  can't wait to hang out with you gals again!

... back to indiana.... then next weekend there was a volleyball tournament that people from my youth group were part of 2 seperate teams.  i didn't play but i was there to cheer them on and capture some of the excitement.  i had alot of pictures so i narrowed it down to just a few to post.
